Xiyuan Salt Field Introduction
The Xiyuan Salt Field, located in Jinsha Township, offers visitors an insight into the nearly 700-year history of the salt production industry in Kinmen. The site features informative displays showcasing the uniqueness of Kinmen's salt industry and the role of salt in the daily life of Kinmen residents. Additionally, there are two significant inscriptions within the park: the "Meritorious Tablet of Ambassador Han Cong of Qingwu Island Salt Field" and the "Yongan Bridge Tablet," which testify to the development of Kinmen's salt industry and the important salt production status of Xiyuan. The Xiyuan Salt Field Cultural Museum has transformed the old building complex into its current form while retaining the historical salt drying areas, allowing visitors to appreciate the beautiful scenery of the salt fields and take unique photographs! Although the peak of the salt production industry is no longer as it once was, it now showcases its past glory through tourism.
