Xiyuan Salt Field Introduction
The Xiyuan Salt Field, located in Jincheng Township, leads visitors to understand the nearly 700-year history of the salt-making industry in Kinmen. The site features an exhibition with rich illustrations and texts that showcase the uniqueness of Kinmen's salt industry and the role of salt in the daily lives of its residents. Additionally, there are two important monuments within the park: the "Stele of Han Cong's Contributions to the Qingwu Zhou Salt Field" and the "Yong'an Bridge Stele," which witness the development of Kinmen's salt industry and the significant salt-making position of Xiyuan. The Xiyuan Salt Field Cultural Center transforms the old building complex into its current form while retaining the past salt-drying areas, allowing visitors to enjoy the beautiful views of the salt fields and capture unique photographs! Although the peak of the salt-making industry is not as it once was, it now showcases its former glory through tourism.
