Gugang Tower Introduction
Gugang Tower, built in 1964, was constructed by Mr. Chuang Wu-nan, a painter from Tamsui, temple repair expert, and antique collector. Strolling along the shores of Gugang Lake, one finds it very serene and pleasant. Climbing to the top of Gugang Tower offers a view of the lake, where on clear days, the shimmering waves create a beautiful scene of lake and mountain. Outside Gugang Tower, there is a garden area where the famous bird of Kinmen, the Eurasian Hoopoe, can often be seen foraging on the lawn, while various water birds gather around the lake.
