Old Castle Introduction
The GuKang Pavilion was built in 1964 and was constructed by Mr. Zhuang Wu-Nan, a painter from Tamsui, a temple restoration expert, and an antique collector. Strolling along the banks of GuKang Lake is very tranquil and pleasant. Climbing to the top of the GuKang Pavilion offers a view of the lake; on clear days, the shimmering waves create a picturesque scene of lake and mountains. Outside the GuKang Pavilion, there is a garden green space where the famous bird of Kinmen, the Eurasian Hoopoe, can often be seen foraging on the lawn, while the area around the lake is a gathering place for various waterbirds.
