Zheng Ji Rice Cake Introduction
Shan Mei Zheng Ji was established in 1953, originally located at the Dongmen Roundabout in Tainan City. Continuing the spirit of 60 years, it preserves traditional local flavors. With over half a century of persistence, the philosophy of using fresh ingredients and maintaining hygiene in the process has allowed us to present our pride, the rice pudding and fish soup, since opening. Shan Mei Zheng Ji only sells two dishes: rice pudding and fish soup. The rice pudding is made from specially selected traditional rice, finely ground to form the outer layer, paired with minced meat, shrimp, shiitake mushrooms, and salted egg yolk. The fish soup utilizes Tainan specialties, milkfish and blackfin catfish, creating a fresh and sweet flavor with a chewy texture. The rice pudding at Shan Mei Zheng Ji combines the specially selected traditional rice with rich minced meat, pork hind leg, shrimp, shiitake mushrooms, and salted egg yolk. The taste of Shan Mei Zheng Ji is genuine and straightforward, reminiscent of hometown flavors. The fish soup is crafted from Tainan's milkfish and blended with blackfin catfish, resulting in our proud signature dish. The milkfish is sweet, and the blackfin catfish is firm and crunchy, making it a seamless golden combination. Opening hours: 08:30 AM to 06:30 PM.
