Zheng Ji Rice Cake Introduction
Shanmei Zhengji was founded in 1953, originally located at the Dongmen Roundabout in Tainan City. Continuing the spirit of 60 years, it preserves traditional local flavors. With over half a century of dedication, it adheres to the philosophy of using fresh ingredients and maintaining hygiene in the production process, presenting proudly its rice pudding and fish soup since its establishment. Shanmei Zhengji's rice pudding is only available in two flavors: rice pudding and fish soup. The rice pudding is made from specially selected indigenous rice ground into a thin skin, paired with minced pork, shrimp, mushrooms, and salted egg yolk. The fish soup utilizes Tainan's specialty, milkfish, combined with blackfin sea bream, resulting in a fresh sweet taste and a chewy texture. Shanmei Zhengji's rice pudding features selected indigenous rice with savory minced pork, pork hind meat, shrimp, mushrooms, and salted egg yolk. The flavors of Shanmei Zhengji are simple yet genuine, embodying the nostalgic taste of home. The fish soup is crafted from Tainan's specialty milkfish paired with blackfin sea bream, creating our proud fish soup, where the sweet milkfish and the firm blackfin sea bream blend perfectly into a golden combination.
