Zheng Ji Rice Cake Introduction
Shanmei Zheng Ji was established in 1953, originally located at Dongmen Roundabout in Tainan City. Continuing the spirit of the past 60 years, it preserves the traditional local flavors. With over half a century of commitment to fresh ingredients and hygienic processes, it presents the proudly served bowl rice cakes and fish soup since its opening. Shanmei Zheng Ji only offers two dishes: bowl rice cake and fish soup. The bowl rice cake is made from specially selected native rice, ground into a skin, paired with minced meat, shrimp, mushrooms, and salted egg yolk. The fish soup uses Tainan’s specialty milkfish and black marlin, resulting in a fresh, sweet flavor and a chewy texture. The bowl rice cake combines specially selected native rice with fragrant minced pork, pork rear leg meat, shrimp, mushrooms, and salted egg yolk. The flavors of Shanmei Zheng Ji are simple yet genuine, evoking nostalgic tastes of hometown. The fish soup, proudly made from Tainan's milkfish mixed with black marlin, features sweet milkfish and crispy black marlin, creating a seamless golden combination. Opening hours: 08:30 to 18:30.
