Zheng Ji Rice Cake Introduction

Shan Mei Zheng Ji was established in 1953, originally located at Dongmen Roundabout in Tainan City. Continuing the spirit of the past 60 years, we preserve the traditional local flavors. With more than half a century of persistence, we adhere to the principles of using fresh ingredients and maintaining hygiene in our processes, proudly presenting our famous bowl rice cake and fish soup since our inception. Shan Mei Zheng Ji offers only two dishes: the bowl rice cake and the fish soup. The bowl rice cake is made with specially selected Taiwanese rice for its outer layer, paired with minced meat, shrimp, mushrooms, and salted egg yolk. The fish soup makes use of Tainan's specialty fish, milkfish, and black tiger fish, creating a deliciously sweet flavor and a chewy texture. The bowl rice cake at Shan Mei Zheng Ji combines carefully chosen Taiwanese rice with rich minced pork, pork hind leg meat, shrimp, mushrooms, and salted egg yolk. The taste of Shan Mei Zheng Ji is simple and genuine, embodying nostalgic hometown flavors. The fish soup, made with local milkfish and black tiger fish, results in a proud dish; the milkfish is sweet and the black tiger fish is crisp, making it a seamless golden combination.
