Since officially opening on June 24, 1998, Donghe Bun has undergone several technical improvements and has been operated with care, creating nostalgic and warm memories under the old banyan tree. However, changes in provincial road alignment and the unwelcome and disrespectful use of our hard-earned reputation, along with the complicated ownership issues of the old building, have continually eroded the precious results of our sincere efforts. Nevertheless, we remain undaunted and invested heavily in purchasing land to construct a new location. After more than a year of dedication from all staff and friends, we ended the operations of the old building on the afternoon of December 31, 2005, and successfully opened the new location on New Year's Day. Of course, due to the busyness of the business, we did not send out invitations or advertisements, and many good friends and loyal customers were not notified; for this, we sincerely apologize. We would like to thank all the workers who participated in building the new location, creating a beautiful, eye-catching new home that has become a new landmark; thank the friends who offered assistance during the relocation process; thank the United Daily News and China Times for their friendly coverage; and lastly, a heartfelt thank you to all our staff who have practically made the bun shop their home. Thank you!
