Malu'ah Tribal Village Introduction
Donghe Village, also known as "Marongarong," is a name that combines "Ma" and "Rongarong." "Rongarong" means rushing water, and the prefix "Ma" emphasizes its intensity, enhancing the imagery of the swift-flowing stream. In the early days, the ancestors of the village, upon seeing the rushing waters, named this place Marongarong. The Marongarong River is abundant with fish and shrimp, and the fertile land along the creek allowed the Amis people to establish their homes here. In Marongarong Village, you can kayak on bamboo rafts in the stream beneath the Donghe Bridge, experience the fun of net fishing, or search for precious sapphires in the lush mountains. Afterwards, you can stroll through the quaint village streets and enjoy a leisurely and romantic afternoon. The environment of the Donghe Village houses is beautiful, with buildings made from traditional natural materials such as thatch, driftwood, and rocks, all of which are eco-friendly. Inside, Indigenous-style dining and lodging are provided.
