Maluoluo Tribe Introduction
Donghe Village, also known as Marongarong, derives its name from the combination of "Ma" and "Rongarong." Rongarong means "rushing water," and the prefix "Ma" emphasizes the intensity, thereby enhancing the powerful imagery of the stream. In the early days, the ancestors of the tribe, upon seeing the roaring and tumultuous stream, named the area Marongarong. The Marongarong River is rich in fish and shrimp, and with fertile land along the creek, the Amis people established their homes here. In Marongarong Village, visitors can go rafting in bamboo rafts at the Mawuku Stream beneath the Donghe Bridge, experience the joy of net fishing, and search for precious sapphires in the lush mountains. Afterward, you can stroll through the quaint village streets and enjoy a leisurely and romantic afternoon. The environment of Donghe Village is beautiful, with structures made from traditional natural materials such as thatch, driftwood, and rocks, all environmentally friendly. The houses also provide indigenous-style dining and accommodations.
