Malo' A Waterfall Village Introduction
Donghe Tribe, also known as "Marongarong," is a combination of "Ma" and "Rongarong." Rongarong means swift-flowing stream, and the prefix "Ma" (very) emphasizes the force of the rushing water. Early ancestors of the tribe, upon seeing the roaring torrent of water, named this place Marongarong. The Marongarong River is rich in fish and shrimp, and the fertile land along the stream has allowed the Amis people to establish their homes here. In Marongarong Tribe, you can go bamboo rafting in the Mawu Cave Stream under the Donghe Bridge, experience the joy of fishing with nets, and explore the lush mountains in search of precious sapphires, followed by a leisurely stroll through the simple tribal neighborhood to enjoy a relaxed and romantic afternoon. The environment of the Donghe Tribe is beautiful, and the buildings are made from traditional natural materials such as thatch, driftwood, rocks, and other eco-friendly materials. Inside, they offer indigenous-style dining and accommodation.
