Maluohalu Tribal Village Introduction
Donghe Tribe, also known as "Marongarong," derives its name from the combination of "Ma" and "Rongarong." "Rongarong" means rapid stream, and the addition of "Ma" (which intensifies the meaning, indicating "very") enhances the perception of the rushing water. In the early days, the ancestors of the tribe, upon arriving and hearing the sound of the swift stream, named the area Marongarong. The Marongarong River is abundant with fish and shrimp, and the fertile soil along the banks led the Amis people to establish their homes here. In the Marongarong tribe, visitors can go bamboo rafting in the Mawuku River beneath the Donghe Bridge and enjoy the fun of net casting. You can also seek precious sapphires in the lush mountains and later stroll through the charming village, savoring a leisurely and romantic afternoon. The environment of the Donghe Tribe houses is beautiful, built using traditional natural materials such as thatch, driftwood, and stones, making them eco-friendly. Inside, they offer local indigenous cuisine and accommodations.
