Maruoa Waterfall Tribe Introduction
Donghe Village, also known as "Marongarong," is a combination of "Ma" and "Rongarong." Rongarong means turbulent stream, with the prefix "Ma" (very) emphasizing the power of the stream. In the early days, the ancestors of the village came across the rushing waters and, hearing the sounds of the stream, named the area Marongarong. The Marongarong River is rich in fish and shrimp, and the fertile land along the stream allowed the Amis people to establish their homes here. In Marongarong Village, you can raft on bamboo under Donghe Bridge, experience the joy of net fishing, and search for precious sapphires in the lush mountains. Afterward, you can stroll through the simple village streets and enjoy a leisurely and romantic afternoon. The environment of Donghe Village is beautiful, with buildings made from natural traditional materials such as thatch, driftwood, and rocks. Inside, there are dining and accommodation options featuring indigenous cuisine.
