Taiyuan Valley Introduction
Taiyuan Gorge is located on the south side of Provincial Highway 23, between Taiyuan Village and Donghe Village. It is named for its canyon scenery formed by the erosion of the Mawuku River, with the section from Dengxian Bridge to Taiyuan Village offering the most stunning views. The deep and majestic canyon is complemented by the abundant clear stream, earning it the nickname "Little Tianxiang." When traveling by car or motorcycle, the steep mountain walls are impressively close, allowing you to feel the fresh air and cool mountain breeze, and listen to the sounds of birds and cicadas. Upon entering the Taiyuan Basin, the broad landscape of the basin is striking, with distant views of the Coastal Mountain Range's rolling peaks, creating a beautiful sight that leaves visitors amazed. The area around the canyon is also a habitat for Taiwan's macaques, and groups of monkeys can often be seen foraging and playing in the trees, attracting many visitors who come to observe and photograph them. It is recommended to visit the Dengxian Bridge Recreation Area and Taiyuan Village to enjoy the monkey ecology and the beautiful scenery of Taiyuan Gorge, before heading to Taiyuan Village to taste and purchase agricultural products irrigated by the clear stream. The large pomelos available from October to November each year are rich in vitamin C, and their sweet and tangy flavor makes them a repeat purchase. The rice grown in the deep mountains is of exceptional quality, as the foggy environment throughout the seasons helps the grains absorb moisture, making it extremely delicious. A friendly reminder: when observing the monkeys, it is advised to keep a safe distance and not to bring food, as it may attract the monkeys and lead to accidents or conflicts. If the monkey group exhibits aggressive behavior, please move away quickly and pay special attention when taking photos.
