Sankou Bridge Head A-Guo Qigu Oysters Introduction

Huang Zhengguo, a resident of Sangu, was originally a fisherman using fixed nets in the coastal waters and estuaries. After the government dismantled his fishing nets, he was appointed as a Black-faced Spoonbill ranger. In 2003, he learned the techniques of making oyster pancakes from a grandmother selling them in Xinshi and began selling oyster pancakes with his wife Yang Caixia in Xinshi and Guiren. With the rise of tourism in Qigu, he relocated back to his hometown at the Qiaotou Seafood Street in Sangu in 2011 and registered "A Guo Qigu Oyster Pancake" to continue his business. The batter for "A Guo Qigu Oyster Pancake" consists of: soybean flour, wheat flour, and sweet potato flour, while the filling includes: cabbage, chives, celery, and green onions, along with oysters. Huang Zhengguo emphasizes that in addition to using fresh ingredients, controlling the heat is crucial for making delicious oyster pancakes. In addition to oyster pancakes, "A Guo Qigu Oyster Pancake" also sells fried wild shrimp, fried small fish, and fried small crabs, all of which are freshly caught seafood from the fixed nets set up by Huang Zhengguo himself in the coastal waters. The quantity varies daily, and they are not available every day, so the food is often sold out shortly after opening. Therefore, tourists who want to try them are advised to arrive early!
