Zhanlongshan Site Cultural Park Introduction

The latest information is based on announcements from the New Taipei City Government Cultural Affairs Bureau, click here to proceed. Zhanlongshan got its name from the hill cut through by the Da'an Creek. In 1955, archaeologists discovered prehistoric cultural layers here. In recent years, with the construction of the Ban-Nan Line of the Taipei Metro and the Tucheng Hospital, many ancient artifacts have been unearthed in the Zhanlongshan area, which was subsequently designated as a city archaeological site and integrated with park facilities to become a vibrant Zhanlongshan Archaeological Cultural Park. The Zhanlongshan archaeological site, dating back to 2800-2300 years ago during the Neolithic era, is located in the southwest corner of the Taipei Basin, at the highland where rivers and hills meet. It belongs to the Yuanshan culture type of the Neolithic era. The artifacts found at Zhanlongshan mainly consist of polished stone tools and decorated pottery, preserved on-site within the park. Several explanatory boards are set up in the open areas of the park, using the decorative patterns of the pottery as design elements to lead visitors through thousands of years of history. Zhanlongshan Archaeological Cultural Park has planned a simulated archaeological excavation sandbox area for family fun, containing replicas of prehistoric pottery shards and stone tools waiting to be discovered, along with a washing area for safe play. The hill slide area features several磨石子 slides and climbing ropes, ideal for children.
