Tung Hua Township Cafe Introduction
Beside the second parking lot of the Tung Flower Trail, the Tung Flower Township Café is highly recommended as a halfway resting spot for hikers and flower viewers. The café’s owner, Mama Chong, built this café on her own land over four years ago. The outdoor platform coffee seats offer a leisurely experience in May, with Tung flowers gently falling from the sky. Every corner of the restaurant provides a stunning view of the white-capped mountains adorned with Tung flowers, creating a beautiful visual aesthetic. Mama Chong's culinary skills are equally impressive. Among the signature dishes, the "Braised Pork Knuckle Set" is a standout, slow-cooked for an hour with onions and pork knuckle, resulting in a tender texture and a melt-in-your-mouth flavor that has become the most popular dish in the restaurant. Additionally, the "Teriyaki Pork Chop" is well-marinated, its light sweetness leaving a memorable taste. The dishes in Tung Flower Township combine both Chinese and Western influences, with the well-known Yunnan-Myanmar dish "Spicy Chicken" expertly prepared by Mama Chong, which pairs wonderfully with moon shrimp cakes, offering a rich culinary experience on the Tung Flower Trail. Besides the food, the café is also famous for its coffee and pancakes, with various flavors like cranberry, chocolate, and maple syrup. In the afternoons, enjoy a latte, Blue Mountain coffee, cappuccino, or a pot of elder tea, sitting under the trees and savoring the gentle breeze while immersed in the atmosphere of swirling Tung flowers, truly a moment of complete happiness.
