Tonghua Township Cafe Introduction
Located beside the second parking lot of the Tung Flower Trail, the Tung Flower Village Café is highly recommended by hikers and flower viewers as a midway resting spot. The café owner, Mama Zhong, built this café on her own land over four years ago. The outdoor café seating allows for a leisurely experience as the Tung flowers drift down in May, creating a relaxed and poetic atmosphere. Every corner of the restaurant offers views of the white-tinted mountain tops adorned with Tung flowers, providing a breathtaking visual aesthetic. Mama Zhong's culinary skills are equally impressive. Among the signature dishes, the "Braised Pork Knuckle Set" features pork knuckle and onions slow-cooked for an hour, resulting in a tender texture and melt-in-your-mouth flavors, making it the most popular dish in the café. Additionally, the "Teriyaki Pork Chop" is delightfully seasoned, with a memorable sweet aroma. The dishes at Tung Flower Village blend Chinese and Western cuisines, with a notable dish being the "Peppery Chicken" inspired by Yunnan and Myanmar cuisine, which Mama Zhong also excels at, paired wonderfully with shrimp crackers, showcasing the exotic culinary flair of the Tung Flower Trail. Besides the food, the café is also famous for its coffee and pancakes, which come in various flavors like cranberry, chocolate, and maple syrup. Enjoying a cup of latte, Blue Mountain coffee, or cappuccino, or brewing a pot of aged tea under the trees in the afternoon breeze while soaking in the atmosphere of falling Tung flowers is truly a blissful experience.
