Harry Potter Bakery Introduction
Not long after graduating from junior high, Harry Potter’s pastry master, Mi Chuan-Rui, resolutely ventured north to learn how to make cakes. Although he appears calm and reserved on the outside, he possesses a passion for pastries within. In the bakery where he works, every type of birthday cake is crafted by this silent tall craftsman, ranging from New Taiwan Dollar, playing cards, Patrick Star, Mr. Krabs, Angry Birds... even a bowl of instant noodles in cake form; Mi Chuan-Rui is like a magician, able to create whatever is requested. Artistic cakes are Mi Chuan-Rui’s forte, but he also excels in other pastry areas. During this selection for salted egg yolk pastries, his Black Gold Salted Egg Yolk Pastry won over many judges. His pastry reflects his personality: low-key and steady, yet with an indescribable flavor. Just looking at the exterior of the Black Gold Salted Egg Yolk Pastry, one can sense that it is anything but ordinary. The crispy and multilayered black crust is made with bamboo charcoal powder, and once cut open, the soft, non-greasy black sesame filling resembles black gold (coal), with a bright yellow salted egg yolk in the center resembling a gold mine. The overall layers are distinct and the colors vibrant, making it hard for anyone to forget!
