According to the Guo family, the grandfather's skills were learned from relatives. Regardless of how it all began, Rongsheng Rice Cake has now become a family tradition. Mr. Guo has the character of a traditional Taiwanese person, placing great emphasis on the ingredients and the production process. For example, they only use the best soy sauce, select Taiwanese mushrooms, and choose high-quality glutinous rice. Since glutinous rice is not easy to cook thoroughly, it must be soaked for two hours before steaming, and the steaming time and heat must also be carefully monitored; otherwise, it will lose its fragrant and chewy original flavor. The ingredients for the rice cake are made from homemade minced pork, fish floss, scallions, garlic, etc., giving it a fragrant and chewy texture without being greasy. Located in the original Sakakari area, it was planned into the Kangle Market by the post-war Nationalist government, allowing snack stalls to set up and operate, witnessing historical changes. Its traditional flavors have made it a favorite among the older residents of Tainan.
