Rongsheng Rice Cake Introduction
According to the Guo family, the grandfather learned his skills from relatives. Regardless of where it all began, Ronsheng Rice Cake has now become a family heirloom. Mr. Guo possesses the traditional Taiwanese character, placing great emphasis on the quality of ingredients and the production process. For example, only the best soy sauce is used, mushrooms are chosen from Taiwan, and high-quality glutinous rice is selected. Since glutinous rice is not easy to cook thoroughly, it must be soaked for two hours prior to steaming, and both the steaming time and temperature require special attention. Otherwise, the fragrant and chewy original flavor of the glutinous rice will be lost. The ingredients for the rice cake include homemade minced pork, fish flakes, scallions, and garlic, resulting in a taste that is fragrant and chewy without being greasy. Located at the original Sakari Barra site, it was transformed into the Kangle Market by the Nationalist government after World War II, allowing snack stalls to set up and operate, witnessing the changes in history. With traditional flavors, it is a favorite among the old residents of Tainan.
