Xingpu Wenchang Temple Introduction

The Xinpuhu Wenchang Temple was built during the Daoguang period and is one of the three Wenchang temples in Hsinchu County. It was rebuilt during the Guangxu period due to being old and dilapidated. The reconstructed temple served as both a study and a hall, representing an early example of the civilized architecture in Xinpuhu. In the early years of the Republic of China, the Wenchang Temple was suddenly destroyed by fire and was subsequently rebuilt actively in the 84th year of the Republic. The main deities worshipped here are Wenchang Dijun, Wenkuai Dijun, Zhu Yi Shenjun, Wenheng Shengdi, and Fuyou Dijun, representing a polytheistic aspect of Taoism.
