Xinpu Wenchang Temple Introduction

The Xinpux Wenchang Temple was built during the Daoguang period and is one of the three Wenchang Temples in Hsinchu County. It was rebuilt during the Guangxu period due to its old age. The rebuilt temple serves as both a study and a worship hall, representing the early civilized characteristics of Xinpux. In the early years of the Republic of China, the Wenchang Temple was suddenly destroyed by fire, leading to its active reconstruction in the 84th year of the Republic. The temple primarily worships five deities: Wenchang Dijun, Wenkui Dijun, Zhu Yi Shenjun, Wenheng Shengdi, and Fuyou Dijun, reflecting the polytheism of Taoism.
