Xinpou Wenchang Temple Introduction

The Xinpux Wenchang Temple was built during the Daoguang period and is one of the three Wenchang Temples in Hsinchu County. It was rebuilt during the Guangxu period due to deterioration, and the reconstructed temple served as both a study and a temple, making it an early representative building of the civilizational qualities of Xinpux. In the early years of the Republic of China, the Wenchang Temple was suddenly burned down, leading to its reconstruction in 1995. The temple primarily worships five deities: Wenchang Dijun, Wenkui Dijun, Zhu Yi Shenjun, Wenheng Shengdi, and Fuyou Dijun, which are part of the polytheistic practices of Taoism.
