Basyawali Tribe Introduction
The exterior walls of the Bashawali tribe's houses are painted with totems symbolizing Amis dance, making it easily recognizable as an Amis tribe when passing through Taiwan Provincial Highway 11. At the entrance to Fugang Harbor, where you turn off from Highway 11, you can see the tribal assembly hall of Bashawali, which is the venue for the harvest festival held by the tribe every July. The Jialulan Recreation Area, located just north of Xiaoyeliu Scenic Area, is a great place to overlook the sea. This nearly three-hectare recreational area was originally the pile of waste earth from the construction of Zhihang Base and was later planned into a large green space featuring many driftwood artworks by indigenous artists, creating a natural yet artistically enriching environment.
