Bashawali Tribe Introduction
The exterior walls of the Bashawali tribe houses are painted with totems symbolizing the dance of the Amis people. When passing along Highway 11, they are very recognizable and easy to identify as an Amis community. At the entrance to Fugang Harbor from Highway 11, you can see the community hall of Bashawali, which is the site where the tribe holds its Harvest Festival every July. Just north of the Xiao Yehliu Scenic Area, the Jalulan Recreation Area is a great place to overlook the sea. Covering nearly three hectares, this recreation area was originally built from the accumulated waste earth during the construction of the Chihhang Base and later planned into a large green space, featuring many driftwood artworks by indigenous artists, creating a natural and artistic environment.
