Bashawali Tribe Introduction
The exterior walls of the Basahawali Tribe's houses are decorated with totems symbolizing the Amis people's dances. They are highly recognizable when passing along Route 11, making it easy to identify this as an Amis tribe. At the entrance to Fugang Harbor from Route 11, you can see the tribal gathering place of Basahawali, which is where the tribe holds its harvest festival every July. Just north of the Xiaoyeliu Scenic Area, the Jialulan Recreation Area offers a great view of the ocean. Spanning nearly three hectares, this recreation area was originally a site where excess soil was piled during the construction of Zhihang Base, and has been transformed into a large green space featuring various driftwood artworks by indigenous artists, creating a natural yet culturally enriching environment.
