Guest House Introduction
The Welcome Hotel is located at the foot of the South Xiangshan of Mount Taiwu, serving as a tunnel hotel that delves into granite. It is the most famous reception place for foreign guests during the wartime administration in Kinmen and was completed in 1980, often referred to as the "Underground Hilton." The Welcome Hotel has a total of 31 rooms located within a 320-meter long tunnel at the back, with two rooms preserved: one was used by Lee Kuan Yew, the former Prime Minister of Singapore, and the other is Room 018, frequently stayed in by Teresa Teng during her military visits to Kinmen. The lobby on the first floor of the Welcome Hotel highlights "Wartime Defense Facilities" and "Introduction to the Welcome Hotel," displaying military landscapes such as rail fortifications, anti-aircraft stakes, barbed wire, and minefields, demonstrating the readiness of the wartime administration. The second floor focuses on the theme of "Military Visits," showcasing photos and videos of Teresa Teng's military visits to Kinmen.
