Chimei Cafe Introduction
The founder of Chi Mei Group, Mr. Hsu Wen-Lung, is passionate about art and leisure, which has led him to spread the seeds of art through the Chi Mei Group. He established the Chi Mei Museum to collect world-class artworks and opened it for free public visits. To realize the vision of providing visitors with a comfortable resting space, the opportunity to establish the Chi Mei Café arose. The Chi Mei Café was created as a wholly-owned investment by Chi Mei Group’s affiliated company, Chi Mei Foods, and it combines the cultural resources of the Chi Mei Cultural Foundation to embark on the journey of an art and music café, allowing visiting friends to enjoy the aroma of coffee while being gently embraced by Western art. The first Chi Mei Café, located at the museum, opened on January 1, 2000. Over the nine years that followed, Chi Mei Café expanded from the museum to serve affiliated enterprises, eventually growing to reach locations such as TSMC’s No. 6 Factory, the Industrial Technology Research Institute Headquarters, Tong Hwa Optoelectronics, National Chiao Tung University, National Cheng Kung University (Chi Mei Building), and the Chi Mei Happy Living Experience Center (Dream Mall), establishing a total of 14 locations to date.
