When you visit National Cheng Kung University, don't miss the Shandong scallion pancakes at "Sheng Li Zao Dian" nearby the campus. Unlike regular scallion pancakes that are topped with thinly sliced scallions, Sheng Li's version is filled with a generous amount of fresh scallions inside a crispy exterior. The rich scallion flavor bursts in your mouth with each bite. This recipe was learned by the owner, Lin Chang-Hsiung, from a friend in Shandong, and each pancake costs only NT$15. For decades, it has satisfied the appetites of many National Cheng Kung University students. Sheng Li Zao Dian operates daily from 4 PM to 10 AM the next morning, and besides scallion pancakes, the pork omelet is also highly recommended. It is a traditional omelet filled with lettuce and pork patty, making it very tender. Almost everything at Sheng Li Zao Dian is delicious.
